Atlantic City's most evocative businesses.

Our Story

The Silk Road was a historic trade route that ranged from Italy all the way to East Asia.

First a little bit of history

More than a trade route…

From being used initially as the Persian Royal Road to being a key vehicle in the Roman Empire’s expansion, the Silk Road transformed the world. It spread Buddhism from India to China and helped with the spread of many other major world religions including Christianity and Islam. It provided luxury goods from the east to Europe so much so that once the Ottoman’s terminated the routes, Europeans began innovating in ships so that they could use marine routes to get access to the things they had gotten so used to. The Silk Road fundamentally changed the world and helped connect people of all cultures.

Why invest in Ducktown?

Ducktown is a historic part of Atlantic City where Italian immigrants settled down in the early 20th century. The name Ducktown came because of there being many Duck houses along the Bayfront that raised poultry and waterfowl. The area is home to many Italian restaurants, bakeries, and St. Michael’s Church. However, over the years the neighbor has become much more diverse with new restaurants and boutiques. This part of town was a thriving part of Atlantic City decades ago. Rather than bring more of the same type of businesses, our goal is to recreate the nostalgic vibe of the 1950s/60s incorporating some world flair. Our ultimate goal is to make this unlike any street in the world yet bring the best each global city has to offer. The silk road will usher in a new genre of businesses in Atlantic City.
